The role:

The Executive Director of Scientific Communications will report to the Vice President of Scientific Affairs. S/he will be responsible for strategic planning and execution of scientific communications deliverables including advisory board planning, congress planning and coverage at Agenus, be a leader in the Medical and Scientific Affairs department, and be an integral team member in preparation for a commercial launch.

In the role you will:

  • Establish the Scientific Communications capability within Medical Affairs
  • Lead the development of an annual integrated advisory board meeting plan, congress planning and coverage.
  • Execute global medical affairs advisory board meetings in support of the Agenus pipeline products and therapeutic areas of interest.
  • Partner with cross functional leaders including but not limited to clinical development, medical affairs, market access.
  • Contribute to clinical content for advisory boards and investigator meetings
  • Provide clinical and scientific information, input and interpretation as needed
  • Lead the development of a compendia and treatment guideline plan
  • Create congress materials (briefing books, content analysis, etc); congress session coverage and reporting plan and post congress executive summary report, in collaboration with the competitive intelligence team
  • Provide support for various pathway initiatives and interactions
  • Participate in a cross functional team on the development of the Global Value Dossier
  • Manage the Scientific Communication budget
  • Directly manage vendors where required

Qualifications: About You

  • Advanced Clinical/Scientific degree required (Pharm.D. or Ph.D preferred)
  • 10+ years of experience in scientific communications in a pharmaceutical company and/or relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Oncology therapeutic area experience and knowledge required
  • Ability to create and present scientific and clinical data
  • Experience on promotional and medical review committee
  • Experience leading ad board meeting
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Experience managing vendors and a budget
  • Working knowledge of legal and regulatory guidelines in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Team oriented and ability to work collaboratively
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Ability to lead and run effective cross-functional meetings
  • Ability to manage multiple projects within defined timelines
  • Strong computer and technical skills with proficiency in various technology platforms, such as Medical Information database systems, SharePoint, Veeva, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Travel maybe required up to 30% of your time (congress attendance, internal business meetings)
