Reporting to the VP of IT, the Director/Sr. Director, Commercial and Medical IT is responsible for serving as the strategic interface with the Commercial and Medical Affairs organizations. This person will be responsible for developing relationships with business stakeholders and positioning IT as a strategic and competitive advantage for the organization. The Director/Sr Director is required to understand key business processes, maintain the strategic technology roadmap, design solutions, implement systems, and manage operational support for all Immunogen Commercial and Medical Affairs functions.

Responsibilities

  • Supports development of IT strategy and roadmap to support the Commercial Operations and Medical Affairs organization.
  • Serves as a technical expert on Sales, Sales Operations, Marketing, Marketing Operations, Medical, Market Access, and related business processes. Should have familiarity with related and supporting processes such as Sunshine, FMV, Government Pricing, Payer Data, Formulary, etc.
  • Prioritize, oversee, and manage portfolio of IT projects in support of commercial business goals. Ensure delivery of projects within determined time and budgetary constraints
  • Develops user requirements and vendor/software selection criteria for commercial software and technology solutions.
  • Partner with our Commercial & Operations Team as well as external vendors to ensure data quality.
  • Drives strategic assessments including vendor selections. Oversees vendor work quality and productivity while managing vendor relationships and contracting.
  • Coordinates design of the business system capabilities. Ensures that design is consistent with agreed upon business processes and provides a foundation for continuous improvement and business efficiency.
  • Drives seamless integration of enterprise wide systems, where applicable, with Commercial Data Environment when applicable (HRIS, Concur, Oracle, VEEVA Vault, etc.)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems or a related field
  • Minimum of 12-14 years of experience in biopharma technology with at least 5 years supporting commercial. Experience with oncology and product launch a plus.
  • Excellent knowledge of Sales and Marketing, and Medical Affairs business processes and operations within a commercial pharmaceutical environment.
  • Interfacing and collaborating with both technical and non-technical colleagues including IT contractors/developers, business stakeholders and customers, vendors/suppliers, at all levels including senior management and board level.
  • Proven success handling a portfolio of projects and services across multiple business functions in areas such as: customer relationship management, omni-channel marketing, master data management, data analytics, marketing, and transparency reporting.
  • Professional experience serving in a management and leadership role within an information technology service function or business process consultant.
  • Demonstrable experience overseeing planning, delivery and maintenance of a portfolio of business-critical computerized solutions on time and on budget.
  • Vendor management experience including vendor due diligence, contracting, and performance management. Fosters partnerships and contracts which result in competitive investment for Immunogen and maximizes the efficiency of vendor performance.
  • Understanding of financial management for projects and operations.
  • Working knowledge of the system design lifecycle, IT project management and development of validation/qualification documentation within a regulated environment.
  • Experience in systems implementation & validation within a biopharma environment.
