The Position

Arrowhead is looking for a talented and resourceful human geneticist experienced in analyzing and interpreting large-scale human genetics data in support of therapeutic target discovery and translation to the clinic. This position is an opportunity to pioneer a new research area in Arrowhead.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute an Arrowhead strategy for incorporating human genetics data into drug discovery and development programs
• Discover new disease targets and develop therapeutic hypotheses by mining human genetics data
• Uncover relevant human genetic data on therapeutic targets of interest in collaboration with discovery biology and clinical development teams
• Monitor the landscape for novel scientific findings and approaches in the broader genetics community and incorporate them internally as appropriate
• Communicate the latest genetic discoveries across the organization

Requirements:

• Ph.D. with postgraduate experience in translational genetics or a related field
• Familiarity with statistical genetics and genetic epidemiology
• Strong quantitative, scientific, and leadership skills
• Excellent communication skills and ability to summarize and present findings to a broad audience
• Previous experience in the pharmaceutical industry or performing cutting-edge research at an academic institution

California pay range

$200,000—$250,000 USD
